Padel court glass should be selected with the enclosure design, fixings and site conditions. Buyers commonly compare 10 mm and 12 mm tempered glass; thickness alone does not establish suitability. For a replacement, use the original panel drawing.

Choosing 10 mm or 12 mm Glass

Use the thickness approved for the court’s panel dimensions, supports and design loads. A thicker pane cannot compensate for an incompatible frame. For outdoor or panoramic courts, ask the supplier to explain the complete enclosure specification.

Documents to Check Before Ordering

Request safety-glass documentation applicable to the supplied product and destination. Where relevant, this may include EN 12150 evidence, impact classification or specified heat-soak treatment. A standard named on a website is not proof that your order meets it.

Keep the approved enclosure drawing, panel schedule and supplier documents together. The FIP Rules of Padel address enclosure surfaces and refer to court homologation requirements; local project requirements also need review.

Ordering Replacement Padel Court Glass

Send the panel drawing or verified measurements, its position on the court and photographs. Confirm these details before production:

  • Width, height, thickness, corners and edge finish.
  • Hole positions, diameters and countersinks.
  • Compatible gaskets, bolts and support details.
  • Any tint, printing or required treatment.
  • Delivery address, unloading access and installation scope.

Similar-sized panels can have different hole patterns. Do not drill or cut a finished tempered panel to make it fit. If drawings are missing, ask a qualified installer how to verify the specification safely.

Installation, Damage and Cost

Follow the approved fixing and handling instructions. Check transit damage, frame alignment, gaskets and specified clearances; avoid copying a generic tightening value from another court. If glass is damaged, restrict access and arrange assessment before reopening.

Compare the full replacement cost: panel, packing, freight, handling and installation. Confirm dispatch and fitting dates separately, because production time is not the same as court downtime.

Quick answers

Can 12 mm glass replace a 10 mm panel?

Only after the court manufacturer or designer confirms compatibility with the frame, fixings and approved design.

What do I need for a replacement enquiry?

Provide the panel drawing or verified dimensions and hole pattern, court model, panel location, photographs and destination.

Is a glass certificate enough for a whole court?

No. The enclosure, fixings, foundations and site-specific design also need review.
